Embark on a new and exciting career at McConnachie Ayr
At McConnachie Ayr Ltd, we are continually on the look-out for dynamic and skilled individuals to join our team. We are fortunate to have a constant pipeline of work, which has continued over the years. These projects derive from a range of different sources with many being through return customers. This has allowed us to continually grow, from relatively small beginnings, into the successful and recognised construction firm we have become.
Alasdair McConnachie
Director
With over thirty years’ experience in the building trade, Alasdair’s expertise is firmly rooted within the construction industry. Serving his Joinery apprenticeship while working for his father’s firm on both local and national projects, including in London. This background has equipped him with a breadth of understanding and many skills that he continues to apply within his role as company Director today. The company specialises in bespoke joinery, building and maintenance and these services are key factors in McConnachie Ayr Ltd’s current remit.
Alasdair works closely with all departments within the company, with a particular focus on the procurement of new business. He is courteous and attentive to prospective and current customers and is always available to support and advise. Alasdair understands the importance of acting as a role model for the McConnachie Ayr Ltd team and ensures that all staff are trained appropriately, are polite, are tidy and dressed at all times in the company uniform in order to achieve and maintain the high standards necessary to successfully deliver high quality services.
Grant Hutton
Contracts Manager
Having recently completed a five year BSc (honours) degree in Quantity Surveying, Grant has now firmly settled into his role as Contracts Manager. He deputises for Alasdair in his absence and this demanding and varied role requires Grant to be flexible to the needs of the business, planning, adapting and problem-solving as required.
Working alongside our skilled team of staff, Grant ensures that the team provide an excellent service utilising their knowledge and expertise to complete projects on time, in budget and of a high standard.
Grant’s formal qualification in Quantity Surveying allows McConnachie Ayr Ltd to measure projects accurately – rather than relying on an average “square meterage” approach to pricing, Grant can analyse plans to provide customers with a detailed breakdown of cost.
Grant’s professional and friendly nature is an asset to the McConnachie Ayr Ltd team and feedback from customers demonstrates how well suited he is to this role.

As a Master Joiner, no challenge is too great for Willie and his abilities are an asset to the business. Willie also acts as mentor for the McConnachie Ayr Ltd apprentices and enhances their training experience with his expertise.
Hilary McConnachie
Office Manager
Hilary has a wealth of experience gained over the years in clerical, administrative positions in both public and private sector organisations. In her role as Office Manager, her responsibilities within McConnachie Ayr Ltd are the management of all “behind the scenes” tasks. These include acting as the point of contact for all training, policy, Human Resources, Health and Safety and payroll matters, delegating to other team members as required.
